I've been homelabbing for a couple of years at this point, running every and anything I could off of a bunch of Optiplex Micros and Raspberry Pi's, but yesterday the homelab got a significant upgrade: a REAL server! Specifically a Dell Poweredge R710. A coworker of mine was kind enough to sell me his for pretty cheap as he's never used it since buying it. It's a lil old, and maybe not the most efficient machine - but it's absolutely perfect for my usecase and I am extremely excited to get to work on it! I haven't gotten to play around with it too much. Owning a server now presents some new challenges I didn't think of initially; where to put it and how to route ethernet to it since I live in a rental... lol. But I'm excited nonetheless. Kaleb, I don't know if you'll ever read this but thanks so much dude - you don't know the can of worms you opened lmfao
